Pokemon GO has already received its biggest update to date with the release of the 2nd Generation Pokemon, but new information has surfaced that leads many players and experts to believe many more are on the way. In a recent interview, John Hanke, the CEO of Niantic (developers of Pokemon GO), stated that Niantic hopes to released major updates every quarter, with yet three more coming this very year.
Pokemon GO players were excited to here this, as the game becomes a bit redundant after a few months of the same thing, and many are already at work of trying to guess what these could be. The most obvious choice among players is the integration of the yet-to-be-released Legendary Pokemon, especially since Hanke has already expressed wanting this to be done by the end of 2017. The second most popular rumor is the features of Trading and Player-vs-Player (PvP) Battling, something players have seemingly wanted since the game was first released.
But that leaves the question of what the third update could be. WIll the Pokemon Gyms be changed and improved, possibly to include PvP Battling? Or, just maybe, will the 3rd Generation be released before year's end? The 2nd Generation was released about six months after the game was released, so that could very well mean the 3rd Generation will be released in either the late summer or early fall. That is, if Niantic chooses to do so before 2017 ends.
Until then, like most things with Pokemon GO, we'll have to wait to see what comes, how things unfold.
